Finn finished wiping down the empty bar for the fifth time and sighed. He'd heard about the big costume party, of course. You couldn't walk into a store without hearing someone talking about it. With a lifetime spent in Boston, he didn't really think about it affecting business. After all, in the city, one event didn't shut down every other social venue in town.

This was, he was now realizing, not Boston. And if half the town was out at a party, the chances were likely that half contained the people likely to patronize a bar on a Friday night. Namely his bar. Which was, he assumed, why the place had been nearly dead-empty for the past hour for the first time since he'd opened.

"Fan of the steam punk genre?" she teased as she sauntered over to the bar. While Finn was her boss she didn't mind if he got a good look at her. He was a good guy and always respectful and Genevieve invited and liked the attention. Besides, if he crossed the line she would let him know it.

"And I don't know maybe I've got room on the ship for one male? You could be my cabin boy, look after my needs," she said, leaning over the bar to give him a good view of her cleavage.

Finn figured he wasn't going to get into trouble for looking at what was offered and even if he was, sometimes a slap was worth it. After that, he dragged his eyes away and searched out her eyes. "So. Ah. You just come in here to gloat about being right about the party? Or to get a shot before you headed over to even further prove me wrong?"

"Oh no, I'm here to convince you to close up shop and come," she added. Maybe her choice of wording was a bit colorful but Finn needed to have a life outside of Tai Chi and the bar. Going to a giant costume party was a good way for him to do that. When else was he going to find such a good excuse to close up?

"Come on, I'll even help you close up. I'll bend over and pick up anything on the floor."

Finn thought if she started bending over to pick things up, he'd spontaneously combust within seconds. Especially in those pants. Instead of saying that, though, he sighed and held up his hands. "All right, all right. I concede defeat. You were right, I was wrong. So," he said and ran a hand through his hair, "how about you close things up while I go up and change into something more appropriate than dressing as a bartender?"

"Ooh, if I hurry can I help you change?" she asked, waggling her eyebrows before laughing and starting to close up the bar. Fortunately since it was so empty there wasn't a lot to do since Finn had to do most of it to probably keep himself busy. Still, there was enough to keep her busy despite the distraction of how naked her boss might be at any given moment.

Finn was back down within ten minutes, his jeans and t-shirt shed for the outfit his mother had insisted they wear when they worked a stand at a Boston ren faire. It wasn't typically Irish, but it was Celtic, so they'd gone with the white blouse and the a plaid she'd liked the look of. With that, and the boots, he'd turned a few eyes at a few faires, even though he felt just a little idiotic at times.

"You know," he said when he walked back into the bar from his loft. "It's almost wrong that you're in pants and I'm the one showing off my legs."

"I don't know, those are some very nice looking legs," Genevieve said as she looked him over. Finn looked very, very good in his outfit and she thought that his legs were a very good feature to be showing off with them. They certainly didn't leave much to the imagination. "And are you saying you'd like to get me out of these pants? Your Captain is intrigued by your proposition."

"Well, Captain, I've had more than a passing interest in getting you out of your pants almost since you walked into the pub, but if only to see if your ass is as spectacular out of them as it is in them." Finn wasn't going to quibble. At this point, she kept dishing and the interest was there, so he'd dish it right back.

He also wondered if she realized that when he wore a plaid, he was nothing if not authentic about it.

"Mmm, if I show you mine is there a chance you show me yours?" she asked. She had noticed before that he looked rather good and obviously kept in good shape with his Tai Chi. There was no doubt that his ass was pretty magnificent as well. While she wasn't normally into guys there was something about being bad with your boss that was too tempting to pass up.

"There's a chance, but I'll warn you, my ass is more on the scrawny side, so it might be a disappointment." Finn grabbed his keys and tucked them into the bag at his waist and opened the pub door for him. He'd seen Gen get flirty with the women in the bar, but not often with the men. He'd thought she was gay, but with the vibe he was catching, he thought maybe he'd been wrong about that.

"Shall we?"

"Well, I'll just have to check around until I find something of yours that's not so scrawny," she said with a wink as she headed out the door. She was glad that Finn was going to come to the party. It didn't take long for you to realize that a place like Siren Cove had a very active social calendar to be enjoyed.
