Finn cleared the last of the dishes from the dinner rush and carted them into the kitchen for Tandy, laughing when she asked if he'd been demoted to busser.
That chore done, he headed back into the bar to do a walk around, checking with those in the game room and those at the tables and booths scattered around the bar area. He joked with a few of the regulars and greeted the faces he couldn't remember seeing before taking his position behind the bar again.
Leaning against the back counter, he surveyed his pub and couldn't help the smile that formed. For as much flak as he'd received from his family over his choosing such a small town when he finally struck out on his own, he really did love the town. The atmosphere was open, accepting, and the sheer fact that he could use his abilities without causing the National Enquirer to drop onto his head made it perfect.
He looked up when the door opened and called out a welcome to the newcomer.
"Welcome to the Pub."

"Welcome to the Pub."

"I'd never, ever survive the practical demonstration, love," Finn replied with an audible sigh, "but I have a feeling I'd die with a rather large smile on my face. Why don't you tell me one little thing and we'll see if my heart can stand the torture?"
no subject
"Oh, I don't know. I think you're the kind of guy to stand up to the challenge," Keira replied before pointing to a customer who wanted something from one of the low shelves. She did so enjoy watching Finn bend over, it was always spectacular to watch. "Well, one of the positions keeps the man on the point of orgasm for hours but never quite tipping him over. The attuned stones you need for the spell aspect then helps other couples in rites of fertility."
no subject
"Yeah, I'd rather not take that position if its all the same," Finn commented with an exaggerated shudder after he straightened up and slid the bowl of bar nuts over to the guy. "I'm all about prolonging things for everyone's fun and enjoyment, but hours on the brink? That sounds more like torture to me."
no subject
"Depends on the witch you're with, I'm sure some people could make it a lot of fun. And beside there's always got to be a price with magic, their sacrifice is someone else's gain." Keira replied, laughing as he shuddered about that. "And also it can make the orgasm when you do finally get to come that much more intense. I've heard some people pass out afterwards from pure pleasure."

And this conversation wasn't having any visual or physical effect on him at all. Nope. Not even a little.
Christ, he was such a liar. Especially when it came to lying to himself. Still, there were some things he didn't bend that far on.
"Probably all true, but I'm not one for using magic and sex together." He shot her a wicked grin. "I prefer to make my own magic."

Keira laughed, groaning at his words and grinning at him in equal measure. He really was just the worst flirt. At least he hadn't rolled out the puns yet.
"Your loss, I personally don't mind dabbling in a bit of both. Depends on the guy or girl," Keira replied, leaning across to pinch the wicked grin off his cheeks. "Let me know when you graduate from solo work. I can't imagine that would be that satisfying."

Suddenly Finn was thinking that he needed to clean out the freezer in the back. Or maybe just sit on a block of ice. Because the added images of Keira switch-hitting were not, repeat not, helping. In the slightest.
"You're just jealous that my right hand knows my equipment better than you do. Hell, even my left does, too," he quipped back, flashing both hands at her jazz-hands style, before turning to wait on someone else at the bar.
no subject
"I am, my mouth is terribly jealous of your hands." Keira snapped right back, let him serve someone else while thinking about that. Keira crunched a pretzel loudly, popping it into her mouth as she looked like a wicked cat who had eaten the canary. Or the wicked witch teasing the poor, innocent, bar owner.

This time, Finn dropped to his knees and clutched his chest with both hands while he groaned. "Killing me, woman. You're absolutely killing me over here."
When he got up, though, he was laughing and mixing a gin and tonic for another regular and getting a lot of good-natured ribbing from the others at the bar about Keira's merciless teasing.
no subject
"Please, I'm barely warmed up. You want me to kill you then I'll stay after work and put you really to the test." Keira replied, grinning at him and raising her beer at her fellow pub compatriots. The fellow pub compatriots who were teasing Finn, although in an entirely different way than she was.
no subject
"But then who would run the bar? The place would go to ruin over my decaying corpse and you'd be left without your favorite bartender to torment. Then those brief hours of pleasure would be all you'd have left and you'd waste away from missing me."
Finn said it all while drawing pints and serving drinks, grinning through it all.
no subject
"You make a really good point, perhaps I'll only give you a sample. Not enough to kill you, just enough to really-" Keira snagged his shirt, bringing him to a stop as he went past the bar again. Leaning forward, she tugged him closer as she brushed her mouth against his ear lobe. "-truly ruin you. What do you say Finn?"
no subject
Finn turned his head so his lips were right next to her ear. "I think you ruined me a long time ago, gorgeous," he whispered before stepping back to move along the bar to the other side
no subject
"Flatterer," Keira replied, standing up and grinning before pressing a kiss against his cheek. Mock saluting him, she blew him a kiss as he slipped round the other side. "And just for that I'm going to leave you wanting. Like always. Plus, any more and you'll be rolling me into a cab."
no subject
"You know I have the cab company on speed dial," Finn reminded her, and kept his mouth firm shut on the offer of his bed should she need to sleep off the worst of the drink. The last, the very last thing he needed was her scent all over his pillows and sheets. She was hard enough to get out of his mind. "And I'd promise to be gentle when I roll you into it."
no subject
"Oh I know but do you know how freaking small this town is? That would be such a waste for me to get a cab to my place, you could always gently roll me into your bed instead." Keira replied grinning wickedly at him as she finished her last mouthful of beer. Tossing a pretzel into her mouth, she pulled her jacket on and straightened up. "You're so easy to tease."
no subject
Finn clasped his hand to his chest and affected a mock bow. "I am to serve, dear lady," he told her with a wink. "I'll add tonight's take onto your tab, okay?"
no subject
"Mmm, or I could settle up by slipping some money in your pocket. Front or back?" Keira replied with a grin, taking out her wallet and raising an eyebrow at him.
no subject
"I'd never survive it with my dignity intact," Finn grinned back and held out his hand instead.
no subject
"Shame," Keira replied, before pressing the money into the palm of his hand. Blowing him a kiss, she laughed and turned to head out.
